flexibilidade. Esta complexidade r{\'{\i}}gida/flex{\'{\i}}vel
sistema de controle passivo o sat{\'e}lite s{\'o} {\'e}

dois ap{\^e}ndices flex{\'{\i}}veis. A investiga{\c{c}}{\~a}o

artificial satellites has been shown a relatively fast, simple and
low cost way of reaching the space in space missions with the most
several applications, however, the conquest of the space will not
be possible without the construction of great space structures
with rigid/flexible components, whose mechanics structure consists
basically of two parts. The first one, called central body,
contains every instrumentation associated to the pay load involved
with the objectives of the mission and the attitude control system
(ACS) equipments, the structure of that part should be rigid
enough to support the mechanical load during the launch phase. The
second part consists of long and/or wide fiexible appendixes, such
as, communication antennas, telescopic sttuctures, anns whose
purpose is to manipulate equipments or to put sensor out of the
interference of the central body, these two aspects drive a
commitment between rigidity and fiexibility. This rigid/flexible
complexity can induce structural vibration, when the structure is
subjects to rotations. Besides, the flexibility of the stucture
lias an important paper in the dynamic behavior and in the ACS
performance. In this work initially, using the Newton-Euler
formulation, the equations ofmotion of a rigid satellite composed
of a central body and an appendix were derived, having as actuator
a rotor. It was observed that for a passive control system the
satellite is only stable when the motion is around the axis
oflargest mornent of inertia and for an active control system the
motion is also stable around the axis of smaller moment of
inertia. Afierwards, using the Lagrangean formulation, a more
complex model of a satellite composed of a rigid central body with
two fiexible appendixes was derived. The ACS implemented was a
proportional plus derivative (PD) type whose gains were found by
the poles allocation method. The investigation of the effects of
the influences of the fiedbility and of the variation of
parameters in the ACS performance, was done in the frequency
domain, using tools like poles and zeros location and Bode
diagram; and in the time domain, observing the answer of the
system to the disturbance of pulse and step type. It was observed
that ACS suffers sensitive degradation when parameters of the
system like structural coefficient ration and natural frequency
ofvibration; suffer variations in the sense of tuming the
structure more flexible. Finally, different strategies of the
control law implemented were evaluated, where it was possible to
observe that the precision capacity of the control system is
function ofits complexity and consequently ofits cost.",
